According to the American broadcaster CNN, when Trump was asked by reporters outside the White House on October 16 whether Saudi Arabia should accept Israeli assistance against the Houthis, the U.S. President promptly replied that yes, Israel could prove to be very helpful to Saudi Arabia in this regard. Describing his relationship with Saudi Arabia as good, President Trump also remarked that the prospect of normalizing relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel has perhaps become stronger than before. However, President Trump did not announce any new agreement or the resumption of negotiations between Saudi Arabia and Israel in this context.
