Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has proposed a wheat support price of Rs4,500 per maund for 2027۔

 According to reports published on October 24. The proposal is aimed at encouraging wheat cultivation and supporting efforts to increase domestic production.

Wheat remains a major component of Pakistan’s food supply and agricultural economy. Farmers’ returns depend on support-price policy as well as the costs of seeds, fertiliser, fuel, irrigation and other inputs.

The figure should be treated as a proposed support price rather than a confirmed final rate. Further policy details will be important for farmers planning the next crop cycle.
