Islamabad: The government has called for immediate measures to improve wheat availability and address concerns over rising prices.
According to a report published on October 25, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar urged the relevant authorities to increase market supplies and take action against hoarding and speculative trading.
Wheat is a staple food in Pakistan, and increases in its price can put additional pressure on household budgets through the cost of flour and other food products. Ensuring adequate supplies, monitoring markets and preventing artificial shortages are important steps toward protecting consumers.
The effectiveness of these measures will become clearer as market availability and prices respond in the coming days.
