A two-week sanitation campaign across Hazara Division resulted in the collection and disposal of more than 2,700 tonnes of waste, according to a report published on October 26.

The report stated that 1,613 tonnes were disposed of in Abbottabad and 1,080 tonnes in Haripur. Approximately 48 tonnes were handled in Battagram and 37 tonnes in Upper Kohistan. Authorities also cleaned 110 kilometres of drains in Haripur and repaired 25 streetlights in Abbottabad.

The campaign, launched under the directions of Hazara Commissioner Shah Rukh Ali Khan, also addressed civic concerns involving drainage, illegal transport stands and parking sites. Officials stressed the importance of maintaining sanitation standards beyond temporary cleanliness drives.
